what digital camera to buy for $300?
I'm about to buy my first digital camera. What would you recommend in the $250-$300 range? For that price, what kind of performance and picture quality can I expect?
Any input is welcome

Easy way to do is compare at <a href="http://www.dpreview.com" target="_blank">www.dpreview.com</a> - or get actual user opinions from <a href="http://www.epinions.com" target="_blank">www.epinions.com</a>

Flabooble!
Yep - dpreview is the way to go. I personally have a Sony Cybershot Model: DSC-P30 and for the $300 tag it is worth every penny. When I bought it a while back it was $500 and it was still worth every penny. The resoloution could be a little better but the ease of use and options it has are great. A ver nice introductory camera.
The rechargable battery lasts for hours, the pics look good and you can control most of the features of the camera manually as well as automaticly.
