RAR help
Hi, I'm just wondering what are .RAR files exactly? Is it some sort of .Zip file? When I open .RAR files, it's always in a notepad format and when it's opened, it has these messed up symbols and stuff. I don't think .RAR files are supposed to be notepad form..but I don't really know what this is so help? Thanks.

Rar files are the same type of thing as zipped files. It is only another form of compression.
There are others but they have diappeared over the years.
Winrar and several other program will handle them correctly.
Rar has a slightly higher compression usuaully then zip
