    Kmode_exception_not_handled

I'm getting a stop 0x0000001E error while booting. The rest of the message is 0xC00000005 0XBEB894D0 0X00001028 KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.

I can get into safe mode. The device manager looks ok. There is a few entries in the event viewer.

What has changed on your system? Did you install new software or new drivers before the error started?

Here is a starting point for you:

    http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;275678

Can you provide more details about the error? Is there a source given for the error?

The general error can becaused by quite a number of things, including some viruses.

More information would help others help you.

Safe mode with networking causes the same exception apart from the memory address.

I thought people here would do better than this. How can I get a memory dump to identify a module from the memory address in the exception message? Would I be best with small, kernel or complete dump? What is the name and directory of the file created?

Moving a couple of cards might have caused the problem. One is a ADSL card that is new and I've not moved it before. I've tried them out and in different slots.

I've found out more about memory dump files but they are useless without a program to view them. I'm not sure if there is one available.

I've had to give up and restore a backup.
