Stress test power supply
Hello :O)
Can you suggest me a way to stress test a power supply ?
I have a simple digital PSU tester and it beeps when some of the power supply voltage are not good (Also displays the voltages). I used it to some of my clients computers who complained about restarts, and replacing the power supplies seems to solve their problems, But I would like to test all the PSU's I have to know which one to throw away.
Thanks

You'd need some specialized equipment to do it. Be able to vary the load independently on all rails and the input voltage. Graph the outputs and catch spikes outside the accepted range.

Hi CB :O)
Oh....That's a bummer....I don't have the tools or skills for that.....
I guess I'll check it with my digital tester and if the voltages are ok will prime95 a computer with this PSU for a day or so.....
