Phase One releases 39 megapixel camera
I was looking for interesting stories today when I ran across this new digital camera. It says you can take huge billboard size photos that average about 117 mb each. It writes at about 20mb a second which doesn't sound so speedy, but, damn thatsa lotta pixels!

20mb per second is pretty speedy if you ask me :-)
I guess, with those new faster Flash Memory cards, the can speed that up even more.
39 MegaPixels. That is alot.

Yeah but you are talking about 6 second per picture now. That doesn't sound so speedy.

Unless you compare it to my 1956 11x14 studio camera with the Kodak Ektra lens..usual studio pics without flash are around 10-30 sec at f32-45

I'm guessing those who need a unusually large sized camera are "compensating" for something else.

Eastman has, for some time, been selling a 16MP back for the Hasabladt body. Last time I looked it was around $3000 just for the back! Great stuff if you need it!
