Post scanner kiosk? is it possible?

Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to connect an hp 5200 and set it up as a kisok of sorts so it is shared throughout my network. I didnt know if hp had any software like this or not. Lemme know if anyone has ever tried this with any scanner. Thanks

    Question

As far as I know, it is not possible. There may be some genius out there who can figure out a way around this problem though. It can not be seen across the network.

You didn't mention which version of Windows you're using...go here for <a href="http://www.hp.com/cposupport/swindexes/hpscanjet59305_swen.html" target="_blank">latest drivers for your ScanJet</a>. Notice the links there on the left for Setup & Install., FAQ's, etc.

Go here for <a href="http://www.hp.com/cposupport/scanners/support_doc/bps03156.html" target="_blank">HP Scanjet 5200C Series Scanner - Product Specifications</a>. It lists the software that comes with the scanner...

Go here for <a href="http://www.hp.com/cposupport/scanners/support_doc/bps03676.html" target="_blank">How to Load Microsoft (R) Client for Networks</a>. This refers specifically for upgrading to Win2000.

As for the sharing software, you might try <a href="http://www.hp.com/cposupport/scanners/software/sj520en.exe.html" target="_blank">HTML Help Updater, for HP Share-to-Web</a>...and the <a href="http://www.hp.com/cposupport/scanners/support_doc/bps05160.html" target="_blank">HP Scanjet - Share-to-Web Software Version 2.4</a>.

Higher-end HP scanners such as the 6450 ship with PrecisionScan Lan and supposedly share across a LAN but I haven't had a chance to play with that software feature with the few I've installed.
