Compaq 1600s Power to laptop
My compaq laptop 1600s connection to the adaptor power supply comes of and on. I found the connection is loose but can not get to the connector from inside the computer. I could not detach the screen which seems to be the only way. Pls help.

Laptops/Notebooks/PDA Mod
Do you mean the connector on the back of the laptop that the DC adaptor plugs into is loose ?
If so, it will probably just need a touch of solder to tighten it back up, which is an easy task if you feel comfortable tearing the laptop apart and removing the motherboard. If not, get it to a qualified shop, I'm guessing it would be somewhere around an hour's worth of labor. I did this exact thing for a coworker's Toshiba a few months ago.

http://docs.hp.com/en/personalcomputing.html may have a PDF showing how to take the unit apart
If you are unable to take it apart yourself I would suggest taking it to an authorized service centre. They may be able to just re-solder the power connection.
