I just got cable internet today And for some reason it says ( your gateway appears to be offline ) and I can't sign in to msn messenger, if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it . It won't let me sign in and run Msn messenger says the default gateway appears to be offline. and I never had a problem with it until today when I switched from dial up to cable internet.I ran the test like it said to do but still will not sign in .

Try reading the help topics here, there is one entitled "Can't sign in because of MSN Messenger connection settings" that looks like it may be helpful, and if not, try using the contact form to request help.

Change the internet properties to "never dial a connection". You are already connected through the LAN.
