When the hardware device wizard launches, have you pointed the wizard at the folder where you unzipped the driver files? Does the wizard identify what the device is and if so, what exactly does it say?

Have you got the chipset drivers installed for your motherboard? Do you have any other usb devices?

Unfortunately, the zip only contains an .exe. I tried to see if the exe was just another zip, but, alas it is an actual installer program.

Does the wizard identify what the device is and if so, what exactly does it say?
"Welcome to found new hardware wizard... install software support for USB camera... install automatically?... specific location?"

So it doesn't recognize the vendor or model.

Have you got the chipset drivers installed for your motherboard?
    I believe so.

Do you have any other usb devices?
Quite a few. In fact, a year ago I had this very camera working. I had uninstalled it since I didn't use it much.

The previous poster (thewillie) found that getting the CD from support check here for details was the only way forward.

Note the page says that the drivers must be installed with the cam disconnected and then shut down. While it is shut down, connect the camera and then start the PC with the camera connected.

It might be worth installing the drivers again as described above. If you do go the route of getting the CD would you please compare the cd with the download and let us know if it is different?

Failing that, I can only suggest you look in the windows directory for files created on the day you installed them. It must have created or modified some system files.. then you could point the request for the drivers at any .inf or .sys files you find.

If you have email notification on, the board will email you when a reply is received... you can then use the link in the email to check.

    Welcome to Windrivers Samirext

There is a link to the drivers at post number 36 - why not download the drivers and burn a cd for yourself?

On the bottom of my camera is says "Model No. 98067"
But the install program from the jasco site for that model doesn't seem to work.

I tried the link in post #36, but the link is dead. (the link itself is fine but the link to the actual download is a 404. I tried a couple of days ago, and tried again today, still dead.)

    any suggestions?

    It works!

I did a google search for SN9C103 driver and came up with this page:

    http://www.sitecom.com/drivers_resul...&productid=311

the download is a zip file that contains an install program that's surprisingly similar to the installer from jasco with one major difference:

This one contains a driver that makes the camera work!

I have the GE Minicam Pro 98067, and tried the driver from Jasco first, which of course didn't work. Downloaded the driver from the link above, and although it appeared to be for a different webcam, it made mine work. Thanks Farmerjoe! Thanks WinDrivers!
