So you wanna upgrade your sound card? You computer has integrated sound which should be fine for basic stereo or 2.1 speakers. What are you looking to do with an upgraded sound card is the question. Usually computers with integrated sound can have the integrated one turned off in the BIOS if you add a PCI card to the computer. If you computer has a brand and model number list it.

Accually I have that no sound problem everyone else has. And since nothing seems to be sounding, nothing at all, i think i have to reinstall my sound card. But thanks for tha responce It says : Bad DirectSound driver. Please select another device in configueration Error Code : 80070057 every time I try to play songs with winamp. Not only on winamp but I my computer has no sound at all, Not on start up not on anything. And when I go to Sound and Audio devices, it says I have no audio device. So what do I do ? I think tha only thing I can do is reinstall tha sound card.

What Brand/Model number is your PC. I assume it is an HP. Is there a sound card listed in the device manager and if so are there any warning associated with it?

Recommended first .... Connect the computer to windows updates and see if it has an driver updates for you.

    or

Re install the drivers from your hp disk

    or

Go to http://www.hp.com and navigate to the driver section, type your computer model and operating system in and download their driver and install it.
