Question Problem with sound device. no sound device installed on my comp

Well my Laptop crash last night. I reinstall windows xp. While trying to play sound on windows media player. it give me a problem with my sound device. It says there might not be a sound device installed on your computer. I check my sound and audio device properties- volume - it says no audio device. For my device manager - its got 4 yellow question mark with a black exclaimation point in the center. These four Devices names are Multimedia audio controller- PCI Modem- video controller- and video controller ( VGA compatible) I notice i have these devices but cannot install them for some reasons I'm assuming theres no path for them to search for the software to be able to install them. IF you guys can, please help me resolve this problem.

Icom have gone into liquidation so there is no help there. I can't find a decent specification for this either. I think it might be a connexant audio device so this driver might work

If you know what the sound type is, please post again.

I have a p4s533 upstairs... it's a desktop board... the icom 1300a is a notebook.. known as a smartbook - mostly polish info about it.

    How strange!

edit: I went back and reviewed the original post - it appears the XP install used may have been from the disk shipped with a 1300A BUT used on a desktop.

    Thus, my confusion.

rusty95, if it boots can you run Everest or Belarc to get the component details? Download to a flash or cd and install and run.

Oh good, for a moment, I thought I had misunderstood the formfactor of the 1300a!

quoting Noo Noo: "Oh good, for a moment, I thought I had misunderstood the formfactor of the 1300a!"

The chances of THAT happening are slim to none!

Nice that you gave me a carefully worded 'out' tho!
