Belkin wireless network card win 2k error code 10 toshiba laptop
I have an old toshiba laptop (satellite pro 440) which I would like to connect to my network. I have a belkin router & belkin wireless g network card F5D7010. This works fine on a machine running xp but I cannot get it to work on the laptop running 2k pro sp4.
I get error code 10.
I have tried regedit & regedt32, downloading new drivers etc etc
Will someone please come to the rescue of the laptop which is now perched on a precipice (the windowsill) awaiting it's fate convinced it will plunge to a swift but painful death!

Error code 10 is the device failed to atctivate or somthing along that line. Which means that there was not enough resources to start the device. This link should be able to help you solve your problem

Thanks Potato Salad, I have tried that but the device does not use any resources apparently so that can't be done.
I have tried everything I can think of. I know the ports works as I have had a wired network adapter plugged in to the previously. I have uninstalled them completely in case they were causing conflicts but still no success

is the laptop ip different to the ones on the network? If not change it so it is different, that shouldn't show error code 10 though, which is as said device failed to start. Check the error log to see more details.

No joy with that either
Do you think that taking 2k off & putting xp on will make any difference?

No not really. I mean you could try that but I dont think that the issue. The device is not starting for some reason.
