Digital Camera turn Webcam
Hey there,
No doubt you get this question all the time, but I couldn't seem to find anything relating specifically to what I wanted. I recently got a Canon PowerShot S2 IS... and to extend its usability i wanted to be able to use it as a webcam. Which should be more than possible, as there is a "Remote Capture" utility which streams the image from the camera to the computer and you can take pictures with it, yet you can't use it as a webcam. Is there a program, or driver out there which can take TWAIN input or something, and use it as a webcam?
Thanks in advance,
WebAsh

Nope, the 2IS isn't intended to function as a webcam and won't. No drivers, no software. Sorry, but this is like buying a Henckels chef knife and asking if you can use it to chop wood! Spend $30 bucks and get a dedicated webcam. Logitech makes decent ones.

Nice analogy :P
And yeah, I was going to anyway, but I was just hoping I'd save myself $30 and just be able to use my digital camera instead. You would have thought it would be possible considering the drivers seem to give the same sort of functionality as a webcam.
