Apple Color LaserWriter 12/600 PS on Windows via Network
Hello
I have a small Windows-Network at home. The PCs and macs obtain an automatic lan-ip with dhcp through our router that connects to the cable-modem.
now, we have an Apple Color LaserWriter 12/600 PS that i want to add to this network. Saddly, it has now RJ45-Ethernetport but only BNC. So i connected it with a bnc-cable to the nearest of the macs in our house. Now, i can print to the printer with this mac and even make it a network-printer, so the other computers can print on it while the mac is on.
But what i didn't manage to do is to set up the network/computers to print while the mac is switched off. Anyone knows a way around this? Maybe some sort of bnc/rj45-adapter so i can directly feed the printer to the router?
Thanks a lot in advance,

apple printer
Hey what you do is get a HP jetdirect and connected it to the P-port on the printer and then set it up as a network printer. I have done this many times and it works fine.

you mean a hardware print-server? well, then i could as well leave the mac on as a print-server and allways send my print-jobs throuth it i guess. But thanks for the suggestion. Any other solution around?
