No CD-Rom/DVD Drivers in XP...HELP!
Hi all,
I'm new to yuor chat room but I hope you can point me in the right direction. My son blew away his cd-dvd drivers in xp pro so now I can't help him reinstall xp because xp can't find a driver to load. i just bought him a new hp dvd 840x along with his hp older cd-writer 8200. any suggestions on how to fix this?

Can you access your BIOS?
Do you have a 3.5 floppy diskette drive?
How are the jumpers set on the dvd and cd writers?
Have you tried it with the dvd-r power plug and
ide cable disconnected?
