Serial connect to SMC Barricade
Anyone ever play with configuring a broadband router via the "Console" port?
Trying to connect to an SMC7008ABR Barricade broadband router via serial (null modem) cable to the "Console" RS-232 port. Just can't get it to talk to me (using HyperTerm version included with Windows 2000).
Tried using the standard 9600-8-N-1 (flow control off) setting with VT100 emulation. No dice. Tried all sorts of different settings. Setting flow control to hardware (regardless of the other settings) caused HyperTerm to hang.
I've configured all sorts of console concentrators and other hardware from this workstation, but just can't seem to find the right combination to talk to this router. Googling hasn't provided any useful info.
Ideas?
