NEWS: Apple unveils $1,099 MacBook
Apple has finally completed its move to Intel processors on the mobile front by introducing an iBook successor dubbed the MacBook. The system features a 13.3" glossy wide-screen display with a 1280x800 resolution, a choice of either 1.83 GHz or 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo processors, up to 2 GB of DDR2-667 RAM, Intel GMA 950 graphics, and a 60 GB 5,400 RPM hard drive expandable to 80 GB, 100 GB, or 120 GB.
Like the more expensive MacBook Pros, the MacBook also features a built-in iSight camera, MagSafe power adapter, Apple remote, and bundled iLife and Front Row applications.
The Apple Online store is currently listing wait times of 1 to 5 business days for the white MacBook models and 3 to 7 business days for the black model. By comparison, the professional 15-inch MacBook Pro carried wait times of up to 6 weeks immediately after it was announced.
