DVD and CD drivers are lost
hi i have had these two drives working fine for two years and all of a sudden, around the time i got tech help from ms my computer no longer would recognize the drives. they are there in BIOS but when i boot from there they atre still gone. i go to dev man and they are yellowed! and i can UNINSTALL and restart and i am back where i started from. i never have the "MS has detected new hardware" screen pop up but the drivers are back anyway with the yellow!. i have been communicating with MS about this for 2-3 weeks but it is a slow process VIA E-mail. i think i just need to D/L new drivers off the internet and install them and MAYBE all would be well but i can not find them. SONY says my mod number is not valid (both) but they are sony and the numbers are on the drives....any suggestions??

Heya and welcome here:
What 'tech help' did you get and what did you do to the comp?
What are the specific model details you have?
Download Everest Home Edition and ascertain what devices show up.
What specific error message(s) are you getting, if any.
Can you look at drivers in Dev manager and does anything show?
?????????
