hmmm, that's an old scanner, and Mustek's site doesn't list anything beyond a Windows 3.1/95/NT driver; does it appear in device manager? What about in my computer under the "scanner and camera wizard" ?

No it doesn't appear in scanners. Mustek told me there were drivers available on the internet.

Does it appear at all in device manager?
If Mustek told you they have drivers, contact them again and ask where they are located, because all that's listed here is for 3.1, 95 and NT.

Hi, I tried to install the software but can't. The first download is asking me to put a floppy in the floppy drive and I don't have one for the scanner. Does it want me to use the cd that came with the scanner?

It may be trying to create a driver diskette - try putting a blank floppy in the drive.

Below Info from above website.Still leads you back to earlier driver posted by
spelling it correct this time (shamus)
1. Start menu run program Regedit.exe.
2. In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
rename the key ProductName from Microsoft Windows XP to Microsoft Windows 2000.
3. Install the Mustek driver for Windows 2000.
4. When it asks you to reboot, press Cancel
5. Go back to the registry and rename the ProductName back to Microsoft Windows XP
6. Reboot the system and enjoy your scanner under Windows XP!
Note: The method above only applies to the following Mustek scanner models
*A3 EP *A3 SP *600 CP *1200 CP
*1200 CU *600 III EP Plus *1200 III EP *1200 III SP
*1200 FS *1200 UB *1200 CUB *1200 USB
*1200 ED *1200 LP

The thing about Mustek products has always been that the hardware was good, but software/support really sucked! Why spend $100 of effort on a $5 product? Canon has some very nice and inexpensive scanners (much beter than HP's offerings) in the $50-$60 range. Check out newegg.com
