    win xp installation problem

Hi I'm new to this forum. Last week I installed a MSI K8T Neo2 motherboard with an AMD 64 3200 CPU. I also formated my SATA HD (Maxtor 6200). I booted from the Win XP CD to reinstall WIN XP. Everything was normal until XP rebooted my System to complete the installation. After the restart, the win xp load screen appeared for a short moment followed by the blue setup screen. Then the monitor went black and the system rebooted again (like an endless loop).

Can anybody help me with this problem

Read through this article and verify you did everything right.

Thx for the reply. I read the article and i think did everthing right but i'm not sure about that f5 thing. When i press f5 during the installation and choose the -Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC- option, win XP won't find my SATA HD.

Try one stick or ram by itself - if that doesn't work and you have others try them one at a time.

I changed all four sticks and also used only one stick. Could it be that my mainboard (MSI K8T Neo2) doesn't support my memory sticks (Infineon DDR400) ?

That memory looks ok - 2.5 volts pc3200 ddr400 and your mobo accepts that.

I just thot 1 or more might be bad - that's why, when trouble shooting, it is good to try different sticks to eliminate that possibility.

I found the problem. It was a damaged memory stick exactly like you said.
