Time to learn, OMG! Actually READ the link in my previous post or go to Symantec's site (or the AV publisher of your choice) and read up on Blaster and other viruses that exploit a vulnerablity in RPC on systems that lack current security patches. Trust me Bubba, it ain't the hardware.

I have all security patches updated. It is more then likely a virus i'm sure. I ran the virus/adware/spyware stuff and yes there is stuff on the computer but it won't let me take it out at all it just freezes this is why i think someone who works on computers would be better because they can go in and take it out.

I don't mean to hijack this threade but I found it by googling for a fix to my same problem. Mine is running slow, shuts down on it's own, and sometimes on other forums that are set up like this one it won't remember me when I come back, and sometimes even logs me out if I pull up another page. I've got a Compaq 5400US. I ran the MBM and obviously have some cooling problems. My readings are case 177F CPU 105F sensor3 96F and fan2 has reached 0RPM. Can a good tearing apart and cleaning help this or do I need a new fan? Can a new fan be installed and if so where can I find a step by step guide? Thanks for any help.

Oh yeah, before I forget, flash is a gauranteed killer on my system now. Any flash sites usually shut it down within minutes.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure they aren't supposed to not be running at all. -0- RPM

Well, since no one else replied does this mean that the broken fan can't be replaced? I've cleaned it and it's still not running at all.

Thank you for the help OMGmissinglink, I wasn't sure if it was possible to replace just the fan or if I would have to pull out and replace something major. I appreciate your time, if you ever have any freshwater fish or aquarium questions let me know lol.
