Unable to burn CDs/DVDs
I have a system that I'm working on for a friend. He is using XP Home SP2. He has two HP DVDRW and one TDK CDRW.
All the drives can read with no problems. However anytime I try to burn from any drive it's acting like it's not detecting the blank media (it tells me to insert a disc). None of them seem to be acting as a burner. I have reinstall/updated drivers. Unable to do a restore point, it won't go back that far. I have tried using multiple programs to burn with. I have tried removing all the drives from the system and using them each one at a time.
I highly doubt all three drives are bad. As of right now reloading windows is not an option. He lost his XP CD and product key from when he moved about a month ago (he's going to check storage this weekend to see if it can be found there). Is there anything else that can be done to try to resolve this without having to reload windows?

Sorry, I should have mentioned this earlier. One of the drives is brand new out of the box. I can try cleaning them though. Thanks
