To get a command prompt (in safe or normal mode), click Start - Run , type cmd and click OK or press Enter key
I think I know just enough to know how much I don't know... I think...

enter safe mode, click the start button, click run and type in CMD then hit enter, it will bring you to an old fashioned DOS prompt C:\documents and setting ...etc just type in regsvr32 -u rqrrpmn.dll and see what happens. if you get an error, you may need to type cd\ then enter before running the regsvr32 -u rqrrpmn.dll command, try this first as its a bit easier than going the PE route.

I tried... the propmt I received said "rqrrpmn.dll was loaded but the dllUnregisteredServer entry point was not found. This file cannot be registered." I guess I'll look up the "Bart PE CD" now.

The Bart PE CD looks great. I downloaded the UBCD Winbuilder, but then I realized that I needed the original XP disc... which I don't have. This computer was built for me by a friend and I guess I need to ask him for the disk, but he is not available right now.

Looks like I'm going to have to take it in to have it looked at. I hate spending the $, but I'm not making any progress.

ANYONE who loads an OS for you should have given you the install disks as part of the 'service'.

When you don't get the software, you get shorted. This could be under the table stuff or whatever.

Just so you know, ALWAYS get the disks.

I have contacted my friend about getting the XP CDs. He have me lots of CDs when the computer was finished, but I can't find one that says XP.

I have tried running ccleaner and then I installed and ran ewido security suite. I'll post the results. PC Club wants $120 to try to remove the virus.

    Thanks, TwinsMom

I think the best "delete file on re-boot" tool is in Webroot's SpySweeper (one of the few areas where I think this software shines right now) but before you give them their pound of flesh, you might want to look at: http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/

I've used this quite a bit and like it.
