HP/Trigem Imperial - mouse locks up PC
Hello folks,
I have here a HP Pavilion Trigem Imperial motherboard (I know, I know, they are junk). This one has not blown the capacitors by the CPU (yet).
Anyway, whenever I have a PS2 mouse plugged into it, and power it on, it never goes past the blue HP screen. Cannot get into BIOS or recovery screens either. However, when I unplug the mouse, and restart, it functions normally.
Like i said, there are NO blown or leaking caps on it.
Anyone ever encountered this? I have replaced the caps on several of these, with mixed results. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
Thanks,
A

Might be that the teeny little fuse that's connected to the PS2 port is blown. Did you plug in or unplug the mouse while the system was turned on? If so, he's right you should just use USB instead.
Perseverance in all matters.
