DVD ROM: Windows cannot load the drivers required or this device. (Code 31)
"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"
I get the above message on my DVD rom drive. It was working fine and then one day I noticed it wasn't working. Every website says to update the driver. I have downloaded, uninstalled and re-installed many many times with no change.
I have a plug-n-play floppy drive that I put in the Dvd roms place and the floppy still works fine.
I also just tried to install a USB cd-rom drive and after installation I get the same above message.
I am on an IBM ThinkPad T23 with Intel 3, Windows 2000.
Any help would be much appreciated,
Jeremy

Well even though I have windows 2000 and those links were for XP for Easy CD Creator--I was a little scared, but I had no other options--I tried the removal of the upper and lower filters in my registry and It actually worked!
Thanks!
