Alphaserver 1000a
ok so i got a Alphaserver 1000a ya that bad @ss right there, so im very happy about it. yay, but the thing can't get to work is the os. I down loaded an iso for Fedora core 5 in 64-bit. but when i put the disc in the drive it would NOT go to the instal screen so i tryed boot drectly from the cd. i know that is has alpha 64-bit hard drives. so i was wondering if i should try a new os or if there some magic way to instal Fedora. sooooo help would be nice xD

These systems don't have a BIOS like standard PCs do, you will likely need to find a boot floppy diskette or CDROM that will "start" the server in the absence of an installed operating system before you can install an OS on it.

Meaning you're not clear on the instructions?
If you can't get a copy of the complete osloader.exe file from an existing installation, you'll need to use the Microsoft de-compression utility expand.exe to expand the compressed version of the file from the CD (osloader.ex_).
expand.exe will need to be on the boot disk you're booting from or on the search path of the system you're using, and run from the command line.
expand is dumb, you need to follow the general pattern of the example but specifiy where your copy of osloader.ex_ is, and where you want the resulting osloader.exe file to go.
Hope I've answered what you actually wanted to know...
