USB flash drive stopped working
After 3 years of working fine, my Philips Keyring 007 flash drive is no longer recognized on my home pc that runs window 98 SE. In the device manager I get a code 28 “The drivers for this device are not installed.” I have uninstalled all the files that go with it and attempted to reinstall the driver using the installation cd, but I get the same problem. I have downloaded a duplicate driver from http://www.driverskit.com/freedownlo.../get18575.html and tried it, but the problem still persists. When I use the device manager to go through the reinstallation process I get the message that “the specified location does not contain information about your hardware.” I’m guessing this is because the driver is not a separate inf file, but is part of a setup.exe
I have tried both usb ports with the same results, and other usb devices still work in them.
My flash drive still works on other pcs, and macs too.
Is there anything I can do to get it to work on my desktop pc again?

Have you tried simply running the setup.exe file on the windows 98 computer? It may need to extract the drivers to a folder, or run an install procedure, etc. Simply pointing the driver wizard to the setup file won't work.
