HP Laptop Monitor Problem
here's the link to the other thread i made. basically scroll down to the last line and you'll see.
http://forums.windrivers.com/showthread.php?t=77002
"Recently, i've had a line of stuck pixels on my screen. if i tilt the angle of the monitor, it would go away for a bit, but then come back. basically, the line is usually green but sometimes other colours, depending on the angle it's at. 2 damn problems with this laptop, think it's time to take it in for repair? or does anyone have any home remedies. lol"

A little trick I heard about:
With your desktop showing the 'line', press PrtScr (your keyboard print Screen button.
Then open wordpad and press ctrl + V; if the line shows, it is unlikely to be dead pixels.

Yes, I know it is not dead pixels. It is "stuck" pixels. If it were dead then there wouldn't be any colour to the pixels. Also, it's an actual hardware monitor problem that has "stuck" pixels. My question was, does anyone know how to fix it? I heard applying pressure to the stuck pixels will work, but it's a line of pixels instead of just one pixel. Thanks for your input though, any other suggestions?

the problem is that they claim a software program will fix a hardware problem. Doesn't make too much sense..

Well you already said it wasn't a hardware problem.... the colour flash video sounds promising.

did you try this? You need to run it for "a couple of hours".

The fact that it goes for a while if u tilt the monitor may indicate something as simple as a loose vid cable.
I had a similar probl with a Dell. Removing & resetting this flat cable (cleaning the connectors on both ends) solved it.
If it's no longer under warantee, it's something u could do yourself.
Good luck.

The video cable typically runs through one of the hinge plate covers, and has two ends, one of which connects to the back or edge of the screen, and one of which connects to the motherboard. You would need to remove the bezel and hinge covers, as well as the plate over the top of the keyboard to access. Lots of little screws, some of which are under rubber or adhesive covers. Also..just a hint..when prying the snap together parts such as the bezel and the case pieces, use a nylon tool of some sort..usually radio shack should have something. Using a screwdriver could break or scratch the plastic.

Geo is right.
However, if that thing is still under warantee, of if u do not feel comfy prying open your laptop, have it serviced by your supplyer or a HP cert tech.

That link doesn't have much on your model except the link at the bottom of the page, which would take you here:
