Epson Stylus color 460 printing garbage
I have an old Epson Stylus 460 that is now just printing garbage. I recently rebuilt my pc and installed win XP SP2 with all the latest fixes and patches. I installed the XP native drivers but these did not work. I the installed the drivers from Epson themseleves. This produced a communications error and could not connect to the printer. I am also using a parallel connnection. I then updated the drivers to using the Native XP drivers again and guess what more garbage. Has anybody any ideas ?

check your printer cable or try another 6 foot one. another thing you mite check is for updated video drivers as some printer and vid drivers can conflict.

Thanks for your input. I shall try replacing the cable and check out what updates have been made lately.

If changing the cable doesn't work, look in the manual and print a self test. If that is also garbage, it's time for a new one.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
