    3 USB Modem

    Hey guys,

I've been using the 3 USB modem to access the net for a while. It's ok but it's not that fast...anyway, I was trying to use it today and all I could access was the Google homepage.

It doesnt let me access any other page and tells me the connection has timed out. My wireless connection works fine but I really need to use this 3 Huawai Modem.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and updating the drivers but it still wont access anything other than my Google homepage (it will search google however, but I cant visit any of the sites found)

    Any hints?

    Argh...right.

I got more credit on the modem but now I find because of my meddlings and reformatting of the modem itself I have doubled the download speed from 3.6mbps to 7.2!

Now this may not be a problem for most people, and I thought it was a good thing at first...but alas, no.

I have a 3 Gig download limit and this double speed is eating into it twice as fast...so I'm running out of credit really quickly.

I have tried looking in the options to see if I can restore factory settings but to no avail. Is there any way to reduce this download speed back to its original 3.6 mbps?

    Cheers.

The speed may allow you to download faster... but it is UP to YOU to control what you download. There are a number of free software packages which will keep an eye on how much you are downloading.

    try this one.
