    Question Soyo 5ehm PCI probs

Help I have just bought a new AT mother board ( Bare board )
It is the Soyo SY-5EHM baby AT board, I was up till 4 am trying to get my serial mouse to work so I took the system down to where I bought the board and I wound up getting a PS2 mouse port to work ( the guy at the store gave me the mouse port )
When I got home and reinstalled Windows I found out that my Real tek PCI network card would not work
ON the boot up screen it was asigned IRQ 10 but in Windows it was assigned IRQ 5, Boot up would be delayed
I thought if I installed the drivers for my sound card ( Creative Ensoniq Audio PCI ) it would force Windows to assign the correct interupts
No way!!! I got an error after trying to load the drivers off of the cd
ON the boot up screen the sound card had IRQ5 my NIC had IRQ 10 and my PCI video card had IRQ 11 ( Creative graphics blaster Riva TNT )
I replaced both the NIC and Sound card with some old ISA units I have laying around and now it works fine, except when my frined goes to load and play a game, Windows was messed up with directx problems
I reinstalled Windows tongight but I am wondering why I could not use my PCI soundcard and NIC
I may try them again since I did update the bios ( 5/16/00 )
Since the update the system seems to work better
Anyone got ideas here is my presnt setup
    SOYO SY-5EHM baby at board
    64 meg sdram
Intel 233 mmx super socket 7
Creative graphics blaster Riva TNT PCI
    Sound blaster 16
3-com etherlink ISA in PNP mode
Set to boot from PCI clot
    10 gig quantum drive
    32x LG cd rom
This board has an AGP slot but I have it set up for my PCI video card
Any ideas welcome , you look this way after too many late nights of hard ware bashing

I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but I have seen many systems where the IRQ assigned by the BIOS is different than what device manager says. Things still seem to work just fine. I think its all part of Windows trying to work out IRQ sharing.

Thanks Stevet, I got the PCI cards to work, I upgraded the bios and now I cna run my PCI cards, Even getting online through m cable connection is better
This system works so good now that it even boots up quicker than my Celeron 533 with 256 megs of ram
Amazing what a bios upgrade will do, this board was made in '98 before all these PCI devices came out,My new bios is 5/16/00
    Thanks again
