    Laptop Driver Problem

I was given a laptop (IBM T42) that had been purchased at a going out of business auction. I had to install a copy of Windows XP to get it to work at all. My problem now is that it has a modem and a wireless LAN adapter (I think) that are not recognized in the device manager. Is there any way to correct, or did I take a bad risk? I don't know what other information would help (but I don't know much, either).

    edit: Welcome to WinDrivers:

    Go here: http://tinyurl.com/ddrmo

Then, click on Suppport and downloads, then enter the data - you'll need to identify your comp a little better.

A lot of shop disable wireless adapt, modem, floppy, etc... in the bios for security reasons.

I hope you can access the bios (i.e. not protected by admin password you do not have ) and check it.

Normally, this should have been detected by XP.
