PcAnywhere file transfering
I posted a thread like this before! I'm refering to file transfering using Pcanywhere. Now, I have another site that does the same thing! I can transfer files from the site to my pc, but I cannot upload files to that pc. The transfer starts, loads about 15% then disconnects from the host. If you try to reconnect to the host, I receive an host busy error. Could some kind of setting in the router cause this? Firewalls are disabled! Both site using win2k sp2. both sites using different routers. One site using a Linksys BEFSX41, the other using a Actiontec GT704WG. any input would help thanks!

It sounds like a configuration error with your pcanywhere lookalike site... what site is this?

Ok the fact that you connect means that the firewalls are not interfering. File uploading quitting could be any number of things including the user stopping the transer. What version pcanywhere is running on the clients and what version are you using?

Yeah I realize that the firewall is not part of the issue. As far as the users stoppng the file tranfers, 1st, most don't have the knowledge to do so. 2nd, I do most of my transfer when nobody is there. 3rd its stops at the same point of the transfer every time. I looked on the Symantec web site for troubleshooting, the only thing I found was a arctcle about system resources being below 75% causing the system to pull the resource from pcanywhere causing it to stop the transfer. I haven't looked to see if this is true or not, but I will today sometime. The version is 10.5 for all clients including me!

I can't find any other culprits... unless this is the same file each time? Or the file is very large?

Yeah I just tried a different type of file, a small .doc. It transfer acts like the file completes then you see the byte per sec counter, it just losrs the connection. Now I can remote back in, gives a host busy amd it will stay like that until the user cancels the transfer? weird!

I just tried a small, large and different types of files they all do the samething. If the file is under 40,000kb it acts like the file transfers, then kicks you out! If the file is over 40,000kb it loads to that point then stops and kicks you out!

RSNOVAk :
Have you checked your permissions on the remote machine?
Is your file download restricted in your profile?
Or is the dowload amount restricted to a certain limit in the program?
Points to ponder !!
Thanks

Its not the downloading its the uploading or file transferring to the other pc(s)
I have 70 other sites that work just fine uploading /downloading through file transfer. I just can't figure out the difference in the pc's that work and the 2 that don't! Its not my pc, it has to be something on the two......still researching!
