Thumbs down Nvidia will not support Vista Drivers for Nforce 2 Motherboards

Nvidia will not support Vista Drivers for Nforce 2 Motherboards.
In a request to Nvidia yesterday for drivers for the Nforce 2 chipset they said and I quote
"Thank you for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care.

With reference to your query with respect to MS-Windows Vista drivers for nForce2 chipset based motherboard, we would like to make the following suggestions.

We are sorry to inform that the nForce2 chipset has been discontinued as of date, since the the product has reached the end of life stage. This is the reason we are unable to provide drivers with respect to MS-Windows Vista operating system.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

    Regards, NVIDIA Customer Care"
So there you have it in a nutshell
I suguest all Nforce2 chipset owners who would like Vista drivers to send a email and complain...

    The question is...

Will Microsoft have its own device drivers for that chipset?

They may and with the popularity of that chipset you may see hacked drivers to work with Vista. Or maybe your motherboard manufacturer will have some drivers.

I have run various builds of Vista Betas on an NForce 2 chipset board, a Shuttle AN35N Utltra 400.

There were no problems experienced with the chipset.

Sound card problems, yes. Scanner problems, yes. Ink jet printer problems, yes. VOIP box problems, yes. Modem problems, yes. TV card problems, yes. Etc. Etc.

But no problems with the NVidia chipset.
