320 GB Hard Drive with Windows 2000 , will only format as 128 GB
hi team.........i just got a 320 GB HDD.........i can format it maximum to 128 GB in Windows 2000.....is this a limitation of Windows 2000 ?.......should i upgrade to Windows XP to fix this ?
btw ....the motherboard Bios picks the HDD up as 320 GB........so no limit with the MB.
any help is great

you don't have 48bit lba enabled. the drive should have come with software to do this

hi markduren2458.........i installed WinXP and it now formats as 298GB.....which is sweet..........thanx for your help man.

To do it in win2000 ya need SP4, as far as i know

The issue is fixed in service pack 3
