Help with external touchpad on laptop
Hi everybody.
This is my first post here.
I have TX770P/R.
When at home I have it plugged in port replicator with external mouse, keyboard and monitor.
I got tired of using mouse after trying 3 different models so I made external PS/2 touchpad from old laptop and that's where I have a problem.
Touchpad works, but slow and without all the features I am used to.
Both touch pads are Alps, just different models.
I tried drivers from all over the web.
I also tried a driver which was in original laptop.
Whatever I did, it was only affecting the internal pad.
Is the problem hardware or software related? Is it because both pads are attached to PS/2?
External pad is recognized by OS (XP PRO) as HID-compliant mouse and will only use microsoft driver.(DV 5.1.2600.0)
For my laptops touch pad driver is provided by Alps (DV 5.3.512.4)
Is there any way to update the driver for external touch pad and get all pointer options, like speed and functions like scroll?
Thanks in advance for help.
Rob
