No Sound From Dvdrom
i tried to play dvd on my dvdrom, the sounds was there before but now it's gone, every other sound works except i play movie on dvdrom, i checked control panel and also sound devices i have installed everything, nothing is missing.
can anyone help me on this?

You may have to take the lid off the case and check that there is an audio cable and its connected correctly
and then check your software settings and audio options in the program you use. You could try uninstalling and reinstalling the software.

it was working until yesterday, i think there may be a problem with dvdrom but it has nothing to do with sound rite, thanks for help

no the audio cable is connected, i don't know what the problem is

Does the dvdrom play CD sound?
What software are you using to view the DVD? Is this a shop bought DVD?

i'm using cyberlink power dvd, dvd is all i bought at movie shop
even with cyberlink it was working but i think there's major probalem with dvd-rom

yea, it does, it plays music and i can listen to music from dvd-rom
the only problem is the dvd video, when i play dvd movie(bought from store) there is no sound, if i play videofile from harddrive there is sound. only dvd video does not give any sound.

OK, so from that we can say that there is nothing wrong with sound on your machine... there is something up with the DVDrom. Have you tried a number of different shop bought dvds?
according to Cyberlink you need to reinstall powerdvd and apply any patches from here (please check your powerdvd version!)

Also if it is XP you should not need the audio cable from the dvdrom to the sound card

i tried to install patches, but i only have trial version so it's not working

oh... has the trial expired? If you need a free player there is a basic one at www.videolan.org
