PC CHIPS M754LMR Mainboard compatibility question

Hi i have an old PCCHIPS Motherboard Socket 370, i bought a CPU Processor (Specs: 1400/256/100/1.5 V) Intel Celeron 1.4 GHz FCPGA 2. Now, me being a rookie at this i could say i may have made a few mistakes trying to get this computer to boot up again. The Mainboard Supports PPGA Celeron and FCPGA Pentium iii processors. I researched the chip i bought and it is a FCPGA 2 Pentium iii. It does fit into place. I was wondering if the new processor will work with the main board

We would need the motherboard model and version to give you that information. It is usually printed on the board somewhere.

it also says fcpga pentium 3's are also supported.. the CPU Processor prior to the new one was an 800 MHz Processor (800/256/133/1.7)

Well after a little googling I found this PDF and if you look at the top of Page 4 it says that version 1.5B supports up to 1.13 GHz or something but it is hard to make out because the page breaks seem to be a bit off.

Either way, I do not think that board will take that chip.

PCB versions are the important thing here. You have PCCHIPS M754LMR, V1.3C

The info Bob found you is for the 1.5B or 3.3

    sl656 specss

The mobo does 100mhz, but is not going to go to a 12x multiplier. It may run at a lower speed BUT

Does the bios support 1.5V for the processor? Can it be altered? If not, the 1.2celeron may fry.

You bought the wrong cpu I am sorry to say, you should always check cpu compatibility before buying.

Bios updates can change the board's capabilities, but you have to read the bios update information to find out.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
