Terminal Services Printing

A doctor's office who prints through terminal services is having a problem with the printers disappearing. The printers are laserjet1320 and a 4p. They are shared from Windows 2000 Pro machines.

I was thinking about using a Jetdirect print server as a solution. Does anyone know how well they work in TS? Any tips for troubleshooting TS printing?

This network is setup in a way that I'm not sure if I can use the command:

net use lpt3 \\servername\printer /persistent:yes

The server is running Server 2003. The client machines are connecting through Terminal Services using Windows 2000 Pro and have a HP Laserjet 1320 connected with a lpt cable. The server and client are in different parts of the city connected through a local ISP created VPN. The server side uses a 10.0.0.x scheme and the client side uses 10.0.10.x. So in the TS client I enter the servers ip (10.0.0.1) and it connects.

The client machine is not a member of the domain. Should it be?

Will the above command work when run on the client under these conditions?

I'm going to run the Terminal Server Printer Redirection Wizard Tool tomorrow. Thank you for that.
