Partially true, only it's not in the shower, it's always on the crapper. Few good ideas I wanted to patent, only to find out later that there were already patent applications or the things already existed. Well there is one more that the search yielded nothing for and I'm planning to patent...
...speaking of which I'm currently working on the prototype to determine the feasibility/potential amount of savings... the hardware is done, may need just minor changes in the microcontroller code... now working on the software...
I predict the next poster has toyed with the idea of working with microcontrollers but never actually done it.

Nope, I've never had the inclination to mess around with microcontrollers. Not very good with hardware, et cetera, more of a database/programming guy.
Best of luck with your patent. Just be sure to hire good patent lawyer to keep the copy cats and scam artists at bay.
The next poster is still using 2009 for the year.

True, I think. I'm not expecting one however things have been leaning towards unexpectedly getting one in 9 months.
I predict the next poster wishes there was a warm place in the US to go to for the winter.
