Windows- Delayed write failed
I am getting an error message that I can't / don't know how to fix.
Windows- delayed write failed error.
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file c:\documents and settings\ Administrator\ local settings\ temp\ NVE3F1.tmp
If anyone knows how to fix this, I would greatly appreciate it. I can't seem to figure it out. I am not on a network. However I have a second computer that is hooked up thru a router. The computer with the error is connected thru the modem.
Thanks in advance

welcome to Windrivers brokenchaos
What is trying to copy that file - is it a software installation you are doing?

Actually it happens everytime I try to copy something on disk and if I try to install software.... sometimes if I just browse on the internet the error message comes up.
Because of the error, I can't burn anything.. videos etc....
And it's driving me crazy.
I have reformatted the hard drive, and re-installed Windows xp...
but I am still getting this problem.
I have no clue what else to do.

Note the hard drive manufacturer, go to their website and download the diagnostic software. Run the diagnostic on the drive.
Run Memtest on your computers memory, here:http://www.memtest86.com/
Read instructions.

I'm thinking my HDD is crashing. When I tried to download something and couldn't I got an I/O device error. When I looked it up it said it was because my HDD is failing and slowly crashing, or that there was a problem with the cable. I have decided that I am just going to replace both.

Buy both, replace the cable first! See if it's just the cable.

This message comes when the hard is going to crash so good is to take the backup of the HARDDISK as soon as possible, sometime your Harddisk will not boot than within a week your harddisk will crash.
OR
Might me problem with the lack of space in C: drive so check the space in the C drive.

94% free in my C Drive.
A friend suggested uninstalling Nero 7... and doing a defrag... then installing Nero 6. But when I tried to install Nero 6, I kept keeping the error. I aborted the installation (So there is no Nero in the computer.) And I am still having the problems.
Since I really don't know much about hardware etc....I have a friend coming out this weekend to look at it. We are going to start with the cable.
AJK.... THis has been going on since September. I was only getting the error every once in awhile back then, so I was still able to burn videos etc...... There is no possibilty of that happening now. Transferring any data will give me that error.

So change the cable, test the ram, test the hard drive and replace the hard drive.
