    DNS Issues

I am having dns problems I think but it is only affecting a single pc on the network. For example, the affected pc can only reach a resource by ip, whereas any othe pc on the network finds the same resource just fine. The problem pc resolves some by name, others it can't. It is just not one resource, its several. I did a dns flush, rebooted, renewed the ip, etc.... Any other ideas????

Several items come to mind here. First, are you on a router? Many routers act as a DNS Caching server, so check the IP address of the DNS server in the ipconfig /all.

You can use NSLookup from the command promtp, this will query the DNS server directly and tell you if the problem exists out there or localy.

If worse comes to worse, hard code the ISP's DNS servers into your network settings, leaving the IP/gateway/subnet to DHCP

    Good luck!
