Ok the situation is that I have no sound. In device manager there is the yellow warning sign and its Code 1, not configured correctly - reinstall drivers for device. Which I unfortunately do not have.

I've tried searching for drivers online, but no luck. Can someone help?

    Cheers

    James

One problem leads to a new one!

Hey guys, thanks for coming back to me. Ok, we have solved one problem. When I boot up, installation wizard no longer pops up because it has detected new hardware. Which is good because it must be now installed.

I've gone to turn on sound using Vol Control in accessories and get the following:

"There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panel,
click Printer and Other Hardware, and then click add Hardware."

Maybe i haven't installed properly? Any suggestions?

    Thanks again,

Certainly! Be sure your XP cd is in the drive (close out the little splash screen that opens when you insert it) and then click the Start button, click Run, then type sfc /scannow into the Open: command box. Follow onscreen instructions.

It means your drivers didn't install properly. Which driver set did you use and how did you install them?
