Syquest SPARQ1.0
Dose any one have any experience with these...I have two of them and about 10 of the 1 gig removable disks. Don't look too reliable to me....It is a like a hard disk in a plastic case. I hate to store a lot of Data on them if they have have had reliability issues. I have installed one and made it functional. I welcome your comments.

I bought one of these when they came out and had nothing but trouble with it. The first one was DOA. I got it replaced & that one stopped working after about three months of use. I got that one RMA'd and the third one worked OK. However, I stopped using it, because every once in a while I would try to access data off of one of the disks & the data would be completely garbled. These were stored properly & the drive never left my desk. It's no fun when you have a Gig of data that you need that is now inaccessible. I ended up going with a SCSI Jazz drive. No problems.

I would try to sell it on ebay. Since Syquest went out of business and stopped making Sparq disks, they are in high demand by people who need more disks.

These things were complete garbage. It was much slower than my regular 33 HDD (when it worked). Would eject everytime I put a disk in, would delay my startup if I had a disk in. Just plain garbage. With hardware prices the way they are now, these thing aren't worth the time and money.
