    Post OMG!! HELP!! CHINON FLOPPY!! JUMPERS???

    <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/mad.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/redface.gif" border="0"> This customer brought in a Floppy Drive that has jumpers on it.. It's a Chinon Model: FZ-357 Floppy Drive. <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0"> Jumpers?? Never seen this B4?? Anyways, It gives me a floppy error every time I boot the machine... It will boot from the Floppy, but it won't read a floppy in windows.... I need to set these friggin' jumpers!!! Custy says "Floppy error on boot, that's unacceptable."     Sounds like you could have an IRQ conflict in Windows. Check to see if there are any errors reported in windows (control panel/sytem tab). Also, maybe this link will help http://www.bassontop.com/drivetext.htm

    Nope... No Windows/IRQ errors... This is definatley a jumper issue... The jumper settings provided on that link don't work, I had already located that post and tried those settings.... Um... I really need help here... <IMG SRC="smilies/mad.gif" border="0">

    I have had a ball with these too....have about 15 of them....I use them with the jumpers set as follows, if you look at the diagram on the back of the drive....connecethe two marked DS1, MM, DG, TTL/CMOS. Hope that helps....it works for me.
