Shoes and variants thereof....
A reply in Platypus's Prediction thread gave me the idea for this. I am betting it's pretty rare for a woman to have less shoes than a man....
Are you male or female and what shoes do you own? Do computer people own less shoes than the average person? Let's find out!
2 x sandals (black and beige)
1 x black shoes
1 x strappy going out shoes
1 x very old and should be thrown away towelling slippers.

2 x dress shoes ( brown )
24 x athletic shoes ( sneakers or tennis shoes )
1 x sandals
What can I say, I like sneakers!

Oh sheesh do you really want to know
I was up to 30 something pairs last time I was asked this question.. since then I'm back in Kingaroy.. back with my old shoes... so now it would be about 60 pairs or more including 10 pairs of various boots
Brown ugg boots
purple ugg boots
tan suede flat heel boots
black suede flat heel boots
black suede heels
black ankle boots
black mid length
2 pairs zip up black knee hi cfm boots
slip on black cfm heels with fold over top (puss in boots)
flat suede old boots for farm and motorbike riding use
oops then theres four pairs lace up boots.. no five
16 pairs of various black work shoes
white court shoes heels (slipons)
brown court shoes heels
cream court shoes heels
gold court shoes heels
pewter court shoes heels
white flat court shoes
gold flat court shoes
three toned metallic court
bronze court
tan suede slipons
brown small heels
tan flatties
various sandals including 4 pairs black sandals brown, tan, 4 pairs brown leather
various slipon casuals inc two pairs of gold, metallic green, metallic pink, bronze, silver, brown, purple with a big flower, pink
various good heeled shoes (stillettoes) not too high.. Im short I look like minnie mouse in big heels ...that includes three pairs black, two silver, two gold, i white
and then theres a box full I dont wear
oh but one thing.. not one jogger in the house. I have some casual tennis like shoes in white and a blue pair but no joggers..
its not so much that I have a fetish.. i don't buy myself shoes often.. ok there was this one splurge after christmas....I worked in a shoe store/warehouse and did lots of overtime.. so they paid me half cash half shoes for the overtime..
at the time I had three kids (since doubled that number) and each of those 3 kids had shoes for the next ten years...like joggers in every size up to ten years old and so on.. Ive still got boxed shoes never worn... it used to work out I would get around 4 pairs an overtime shift and there was one three week stint where I did five or more hours overtime every day

I'm still breathing and kicking, something I'm happy about every morning I awaken. Still working and making a paycheck, something I expect to do for many more years.
How about you? Running this place now, are we? Congrats!

Hmmm, the better half is traipsing about in Sweden right now, I'll have to ask her to pick me up a pair. Thanks for the tip, House!

Unfortunately it's not by women.
Get the clogs at your own risk.

Let's see, I have a pair of black Rockports suitable for business and a brown pair of same. I also own a nice pair of SAS loafers for occasions where a nice suit, tie, etc. are in order.
For more casual wear I have a pair of Tony Lama python skin boots with walking heels, two pair of nondescript sandals (bought both at WalMart last year for $3 on sale) and a pair of Timberline steel-toed work boots.
Actually, I have never had a woman (or a man, for that matter) hit on me for my footwear. I would say, the reasons women have hit on me (other than my personality and overwhelming good looks) have been:
1. Being married. Yep, I have been approached by more women while sporting a wedding ring than when I have been single.
2. A puppy. Being out in public with a puppy is a big draw.
3. Having a child. After my first daughter was born, I couldn't take her anywhere without being propositioned. Repeatedly. In fact, some of my friends kept offering to rent her. For instance, my wife and I had gone to a mircro-brewery festival at Fells Point in Baltimore. Our little girl was about 14 months old, and she liked nothing better that going up and down stairs. The venue for the festival was built on several levels, so we did lots of stairs with her hand in mine.
After 12 or so trips up and down the various levels, a woman ran up to me and said, "I love the way you are so patient with her. God! That's the sexiest thing I've ever seen! My husband isn't here. Is your wife here? Can we go somewhere?" Had to tell her that my wife was indeed here and she was the woman standing behind her with her fist cocked for a sucker punch.
Well, moving my daughter out of the area of the discussion, we went indoors and spent some time looking at a big aquarium. I pulled over a chair and stood her up on it. After I had moved the chair a few time so she could see different views, I was tapped on the shoulder, and when I looked around, the woman standing there said, "Your daughter is really cute. I have two sons but have always wanted daughters. I've read that men who father daughters tend to do it consistently. Do you think that's true?" I replied that I really didn't know.
Her response was to hand me her business card and say, "Well, if you ever want to experiment, call me." There are so many areas of female psychology I still don't understand. I mean, what is it with shoes, anyway!

Well, not much here. Having developed sore feet from years of walking on concrete workshop floors, I began mostly wearing impact absorbing joggers - budget Dunlop with KT soles. So I usually have a couple of pairs of them, and some worn-out ones for garden etc.
2 pairs of respectable shoes, 1 pair of summer sandals.

One pair white cross-trainers (tennis shoes but much more expensive)
One pair black cross-trainers (same thing)
One pair brown dress shoes
One pair black dress shoes
One pair insulated snow boots
That's it.

One pair walking boots, everyday wear, due for replacement.
One pair of sandals, summer wear (what damn summer?) in homage to my hippie past.
One pair formal shoes, 1988 vintage, for weddings, funerals, interviews.
One pair of feet, 1954 vintage, mostly indoor use (too much doggie doo and broken glass on the the pavements (sidewalks for you US folks) round here.
I think I know just enough to know how much I don't know... I think...
