External USB HD "fogotten"
I installed for some of my clients an external HD in a USB box few monthes ago with backup program.
What i've noticed during these months, Is that from time to time the computer doesn't see the drives until i disconnect and reconnect them
So i got a problem with the consistency of the backup.
The external 3.5" boxes are generic and quiet (Without fan).
I thought maybe to buy these client an HD drawer instead. What bothers me is in case of electric surge, The drive in the drawer can be "fried" too, And that's why i made it external, But internal and risky is better than external and not....Don't you think ?

Driver Terrier
probably have the usb ports set to allow the computer to power them down when not in use.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
