News is Bad News: Depressing Headline of the Day

    Feeling pessimistic this morning......

    Turning and turning
    Within the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer
    Things fall apart
    The center cannot hold
    And a blood dimmed tide
    Is loosed upon the world

    Nothing is sacred
    The ceremony sinks
    Innocence is drowned
    In anarchy
    The best lack conviction
    Given some time to think
And the worst are full of passion
    Without mercy

The saddest thing is they think they are doing something positive.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

"A Taleban spokesman in Afghanistan says the group has killed one of 23 South Korean hostages it is holding."

"The hostages - most of them women - are members of a Christian aid group."

What more can we expect from people who will indescriminately slaughter their own men, women and children in the name of their cause?
I didn't surrender, but they took my horse and made him surrender. They have him pulling a wagon up in Kansas I bet.

I hope they get to meet the ROK army. They are lighting a match that can burst into a very out of control fire in a short length of time.

I wish we could just let the Armed Forces do their real job,Which is to come home.

I could care less if those warped ba$turds in Iraq get freedom,
    or not.

I am just so sorry we have another Viet Nam war going on by a SOB as
stupid as Lyndon Johnson was.Hell he may be dumber.

    Lest we forget.

If China would provide 200,000 plus troops, Afghanistan, and Iraq would be cleaned up right quick. Iran would piss themselves, and jump in line too.

In one of the rare times I agree with Bush, the proposed arms sales in the Middle East are a good idea. We need to support our allies, even if their internal politics might not be very palatable. For the most part, the equipment we are offering could have been purchased elsewhere, and that would have just cost us good will and influence.

Russia and China haven't been reluctant to sell military technology to Iran, and it is past time that we did the same for states that oppose Iranian *****ions. It's an imperfect solution, but we just have to deal with the world as it is, and not how we wish it were.

    http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2008/0...an-attack.html

"The women were travelling to Kabul from the eastern city of Gardez when they were attacked by five gunmen armed with Kalashnikov assault rifles at about 11:30 a.m. local time, Khan said. Another Afghan worker with the organization, travelling in a second vehicle, was critically wounded, the International Rescue Committee said in a statement.

'They were working on education and children's programs. They were there unarmed, impartial [and] non-political. We are absolutely outraged,' Michael Kocher, vice-president of the aid organization's international programs, told CBC News from New York.

The Taliban said it was responsible for the attack."
