3 years 6 months 2 days and 4 hours ago I stopped ( I can't say quit because I still want to).
If I get downwind of a smoker or deliver meals-on-wheels to a smokers abode I choke.

Watching my Dad dying of lung cancer and related problems over a period of 11 yeas cured me of any desire to start smoking.
House, what I find really useful for cleaning this gunk is an infant toothbrush. The bristles are very soft, and unlike a bottle brush there is no metal shaft to gouge something you might wish you hadn't. You'll still need contact cleaner, but if you use it before the brush and some air, you just wind up with a gluey mass.

In my field of work I deal with Electronic air filters. air cells are taken out and cleaned. The actual electronic board is not in air stream, so it does not get the slime, tar, gunk. that the cells do. I use a mixture of water, suds,
hydrofloric acid. When I am done they are back to high polished Aluminum.
It would be great if you could apply it to,mother board, harddrive, sound card
video card, ram ,roms, power supply. When I wash cells a gold color of suds
comes off then turns black. I quit smoking 18 years ago on a $1.00 bet.

6 of my brothers and all but three of my sisters smoke. My parents did, and my mom quit only when she was put on oxygen for the rest of her life. It is really sad to see a woman who was so energetic in my childhood hobbling around with a hose for breathing. I was hoping that my siblings would take the hint and quit, but I guess the attraction is too much. I never smoked and God willing, never will.

I quit the day I realized that I was chain smoking, or rather I thought about quiting that day.
But when I quit, I quit. I carried an unopened package of cigarettes with me until it started to fall apart -- removing yourself from temptation isn't the same as being virtuous.

I'm glad to say I never started smoking. When I fixed vacuum cleaners you could always tell if a machine came from a household where there was a smoker or a dog.

Noo, I have 8 brothers and 6 sisters (one is a twin). Our family reunions are usually held outdoors...

All of them save one brother and my twin sister are step-siblings. My mom was married 3 times and my dad was married twice. Funny thing is that out of all of us, I am the only one handy woth a toolbox, so I get 'volunteered" quite often to fix whatever breaks or needs to be updated. Sigh.

I quite 8 and a half years ago, still get cravings for them but haven't had one since.
You're right about smoker's computers, they get nasty. I don't phuck around trying to "un-gunk" their fans, if its spinning slow, I pitch it and they pay for a new one.
