2003 Install problems
I am trying to install windows 2003 on my server. I have a new DVD burner and a newer (52x) cdrom drive. Neither one will boot off my 2k3 disk. I have SBS premium, SBS RC2, SBS rc1 and server 2003, and yes there original Microsoft disks.
My question is can a bios/motherboard be so old as it will not boot off current CD/dvd's?
Thanks

Yes it is possible that an older board bios may not enumerate a newer cd/dvd rom. If this is problem you should also notice that the bios does not detect the drives.

Hey SD, long time...
You did do the change ide cables, make sure they were 40 wire for the cd and try them on both ide ports...? What mobo?
Boot from floppy and read the disks from dos ok?
I have had this problem with DVD drives, but never with cd drives.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
